BMP (Bitmap Image File)
BMP Microsoft Windows का मूल अनकम्प्रेस्ड रास्टर इमेज फ़ॉर्मैट है। यह बिना किसी कम्प्रेशन के पिक्सेल डेटा संग्रहीत करता है, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप बहुत बड़ी फ़ाइलें होती हैं लेकिन शून्य गुणवत्ता हानि होती है। BMP मुख्य रूप से Windows सिस्टम ग्राफ़िक्स और इमेज प्रोसेसिंग के दौरान मध्यवर्ती फ़ॉर्मैट के रूप में उपयोग किया जाता है।

BMP को 1985 में Windows 1.0 के साथ OS/2 और Windows प्लेटफ़ॉर्म के मूल इमेज फ़ॉर्मैट के रूप में पेश किया गया था। ICC कलर प्रोफ़ाइल का समर्थन करने वाले नवीनतम संस्करण के साथ इसे कई बार अपडेट किया गया है।
